What is Quality in TYA?

PAYPA’s digital guide, What is ‘Quality?, is the first of a series of resources designed to support our sector of the arts through the sharing of knowledge and expertise.

Written by Kerryn Palmer, What is ‘Quality? draws on her PhD research, and on the collective experience of Aotearoa’s Performing Arts & Young People sector, to identify markers of excellence in performing arts for/by/with children and young people. It provides background information on the PA&YP field, explores the relevance and benefits of performing arts for/by/with children and young people, and examines definitions of ‘quality’ in relation to performing arts for young audiences.

Currently in the pipeline are resources on touring theatre for young audiences and collaborating with children and young people to develop new work.

What is ‘Quality’? is available on this website through the Member’s Hub.
